Chemical Peels

There are many types of medical grade chemical peels available. We have peels that range from superficial with no downtime to painless medium-depth peels.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

  • Stimulate collagen, elastin, and new cell growth

  • Improve skin texture and appearance

  • Helps to reduce discoloration caused by the sun, melasma, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  • Clears up acne

  • Smooth fine lines and wrinkles

To get optimum benefits from a peel we recommend repeating a series of at least 2-3 every 2-6 weeks depending on the level of peel appropriate for you, your skin type, and your goals. Then you can repeat as needed. Completing a series stimulates more cell turnover resulting in deeper exfoliation, healthy glow, and maximum benefit.

To accelerate the results combine/alternate peels with microneedling and PRP.

Recommendations:

I recommend booking a Newbie Chemical Peel Chat if we have never talked about a peel before and or you have never had one. This is so I can develop a treatment plan specific for you to provide the safest and best results.

Treatment Time:

15 minutes up to 40 minutes

Down Time:

No down time up to 7 plus days depending on the peel

Cost:

Varies- very superficial peels start at $75 to medium depth peels starting at $350

I currently use SkinMedica Peels (Superficial) and VI Peels (Medium Depth)

There are endless types of peels and combinations. Here are common acids that make a peel.  Glycolic Acid: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, reduces acne. Salicylic Acid: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, significantly reduces acne. Malic Acid: hydration, exfoliation or removal of dead skin cells, reduction in wrinkles, improved skin smoothness, complexion, and tone.  Lactic Acid: brightens, smooths, and evens skin, while also making it appear firmer. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and loosens the bond between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion. Retinoic Acid: penetrates the skin and increases cell turnover.  Trichloroacetic Acid: helps drive peel blend deeper and targets signs of aging by boosting collagen and exfoliating the skin.  Phenol: numbs the skin, allowing for painless application. (VI peels only). Ascorbic Acid: antioxidant that reverses free radicals, evens skin tone, and helps prevent future damage.
