Fibroblast PlasmaPen

FIBROBLAST SKIN TIGHTENING INFORMATION

Fibroblast is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to reduce the volume of excess skin. Also known as Plasma Pen or Plasma Skin Tightening, it is popular for its’ success with Non-Surgical Eye Lifts, Tummy Tightening, Neck Tightening and so much more.

The term “Soft Surgery” is used to describe the treatment because it delivers results similar to surgery, with no scalpel, stitches or bandages and minimal downtime.  A minimally invasive procedure with much lower risk and at a more affordable price than actual surgery.

HOW DOES FIBROBLAST TREATMENT WORK?
Fibroblast is a relatively new innovation in the beauty industry in North America but has been used for a number of years in Europe. The extremely accurate handheld device (FDA approved) works by utilizing the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted from our skin, to form a plasma charge. A small electrical arc is created and instantly shrinks the targeted skin.  When this energy penetrates into the fibroblasts in the inner layer of your skin, it results in the release of growth factors.  Growth factors stimulate cellular growth and regeneration of skin which leads to natural skin tightening and smoothing.

WHAT IS IT USED TO TREAT?
Fibroblast can treat a number of imperfections without any actual cutting of the skin. It is ideal for loose, sagging skin that has lost elasticity.  It can be used for a number of treatments. I found the areas below respond best :

  • Eyelid tightening, including under eyes and minimizing Crow’s feet

  • Brow lift

  • Neck tightening

  • Skin imperfections, including skin tags and age spots

ADVANTAGES vs SURGERY

  • No incision or stitches, no risks associated with anesthesia

  • Minimal side effects with little downtime

  • Induces collagen growth

  • Significant cost savings

  • Natural results, some immediate with full results at 8-12 weeks

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment (skin volume is actually diminished), the results should last as long as with an invasive surgery.  Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further aging, but the positive results should last years, depending on the area treated.  Positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately afterwards, but the final results will be seen after 8-12 weeks. For some, additional treatments may be required after 8 weeks for maximum results.  Also, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and excessive sun exposure.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of treatments required will vary according to the area being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment.  Further treatments can be carried out to get better results, although it is uncommon to require more than two treatments. Appointments must be spaced out by 8 weeks. The healthier you are when receiving the treatment and how well you take care of your health after the treatment greatly impacts your fibroblast cells ability to regenerate new collagen and elastin, therefore effecting your results.

WHAT TO EXPECT-SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS
Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a certified technician. There will be small carbon crusts in the treated area that will last 5-10 days before naturally lifting, revealing new pink skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for a few days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

SCHEDULING YOUR TREATMENT

A consultation is required prior to scheduling your treatment.  Usually this can be done over the phone and I will be requesting pictures from you to assess if you are a candidate.

This procedure is only suitable for Fitzpatrick scale 1-3 skin tones (light-medium skin tone).  Fitzpatrick 4 clients (skin that tans easily and rarely burns) will require a test patch to assess hyperpigmentation risk.  Fitzpatrick skin tones greater than 4 are not candidates for this treatment.

Treatment cost varies and is based on the area being treated.  These prices are estimates and actual cost will be determined during your consultation.

  • Crow’s Feet $400

  • Eyes - Lids or Below per area $450

  • Eyelids & Crow’s Feet $800

  • Brow Lift $450

  • Skin Imperfections Starts at $150

  • Neck $650-$1000
